Profit ought to be something we consider only after adding as much ecological value, energy, benefits, and resources to the public good side of the continuum. It is strange to me that organizations will do almost anything to profiteer or increase their stock price. Much of the frustration and stress in our world comes from the tension created by organizations and their interactivity with those that insulate and isolate these organizations from perturbation. They have discovered that complexity is good for the bottom line because it creates confusion, so people cannot figure out what is happening. Much is about finding every possible way to profiteer regardless of the consequences to people or the environment. They either know what they do or don’t know what they do. For those who would like to transition to a more holistic point of view because they know what is going on, it is best to bring it up in the boardroom and risk getting fired. It may be the best thing to happen to you as we transition to how things could be world.
