When you consider all the problems on Earth, the first and most urgent may be that we lack a common foundation of shared values. Without a common similarity foundation, we cannot arrive at problem definitions on Earth because of conflict, controversy, chaos, differing perspectives, different religions, different states, different communities, different countries, compartmentalized organizational structures, and cultures of controlling domination over us from various places. The following image from NASA, captured today, shows a desired future condition for planet Earth. You’ll notice that the map has no boundaries and covers everything on Earth. However, what is not shown are the problems that exist on Earth. To solve problems, we need a foundation of similarity. Moreover, the similarity condition in my opinion should be loving, caring, sharing, giving, forgiving, and genuine kindness, striving to bring about conditions of comfort, joy, love, hope, unity, equity, faith, and sustainable, striving happiness. The foundation of similarity ethics includes natural earth striving, natural humanity striving, natural healthy living striving, and natural spirituality striving. Hence, if everyone shared this desired future, we could start figuring out more long-term desired future conditions and our unique diversity. In my estimation, this foundation is the secret to solving all the major problems on Earth. I have said in my previous papers that conservatism and liberalism are like a continuum, like a continuous elevation change on a mountain. Shouldn’t we see this map as a continuum of elevations across our planet, representing our problems on Earth?
The only thing we really need to know is where people and our natural environment need help, and which areas are most suitable for helping them. To me, the most important cultural consideration is the concept of a similarity foundation on Earth. Without these cultural considerations, it would be dangerous to create unique diversity, ideas, creativity, perspectives, innovations, hypotheses, and everything else. Therefore, all of our current functioning is based solely on our unique perspectives (diversity only). This is a major problem because it creates chaos. Hence, once we have a shared foundation, we can draw on different perspectives to solve problems. Currently, we all have our own belief systems, our own religions, our own experiences, our own political parties, our own organizations, our own countries, our own states, our own communities, and our own unique locations on Earth. Hence, what is needed is a similarity condition to bind us together, whether you believe in the similarity-based ethics I have proposed or not. However, I am interested in hearing other people’s perspectives and potential contributions to the foundation.
I have memorized the similarity foundation conditions, and we should strive to create a foundation on earth where everyone can memorize them. Therefore, it must not be too long and complicated for people to memorize. To me, the foundational similarity in ethics is also a condition, like a criterion. They are holistic, well-meaning, and positive energy ways to check and balance ourselves before any action. I believe this concept replaces most laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures on Earth. Likewise, it strives to minimize complexity, fragmentation, conflict, controversy, chaos, and any other detrimental behaviors as well as potential negative impacts on Earth. These phenomena are often feedback loops or multiplier effects because they create more of the same over time. Thus, what comes to mind are the holistic, prescriptive advice concepts I discussed previously.
By transitioning all laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures into holistic, prescriptive advice, it becomes a more holistic approach to preventing problems from occurring in the first place, rather than responding with reactionary reductionism. I’m looking forward to a world of this shared foundation everywhere on Earth for everyone. Then we should be able to create as many types of maps as we need (perspectives), because maps are meant for use in all environmental problem-solving endeavors. In other words, unique diversity is something we can recognize as we map out our world. I use mountains as a metaphor for problems on Earth. If we map out the problems by elevation (the higher the elevation, the more severe the problem), Mountain ranges (problems), and valleys (people who can solve problems) will cover our entire planet, depicting where our most pressing problems exist, and the people who can solve them (valleys). Solving problems really takes all of us, even if you’re on top of one of the highest mountains (problems), struggling to survive. However, the relative contribution of energy will come from those who are relatively healthy, have an earth ethic, unique diversity, and holistically strive towards a desired future condition.
As I learned in an Environmental Problem-Solving class from Dr. John Donnelly at the School of Environment and Natural Resources at the University of Vermont, understanding a problem is a problem in itself, as it often takes a very long time to grasp the true nature of a problem. Once we understand the true nature of the problems on planet Earth, we will be able to strive towards a more desirable future. Understanding problems on earth and the current condition may be a significant problem in itself because there are so many different political spheres, experiences, Industrial earth structures, industrial earth functions, controlling dominations- kings, castles, and kingdoms, and so many unique perspectives functioning without a similarity foundation for everyone, everything, everywhere on earth. The current condition is really good at creating more complexity, fragmentation, conflict, chaos, and controversy, which detrimentally impacts functioning living, learning, loving, exploring, and discovering. Once we have a solid foundation of similarity on Earth, we will understand the true nature of the problem in a more holistic, sustainable way. From a hypothesis perspective, the nearest I can tell is that most of the problems come from the structures and functions of compartmentalized kings, castles, and kingdoms, and from Industrial Earth’s confining, compartmentalized hierarchies that function as infinite variables, politicized and capable of changing at any time depending on the needs of controlling domination. Each of these is a diversity-only (like countries) organization and lacks a similarity foundation. In many ways, trying to solve problems without having a similarity condition on Earth is a problem in itself. Therefore, I propose we put forth a similarity condition of loving, caring, sharing, giving, forgiving, and genuine kindness, striving to bring about conditions of comfort, joy, love, hope, unity, equity, faith, and sustainable, striving happiness everywhere on Earth. These similarity foundation ethics include natural earth striving, natural humanity striving, natural healthy living striving, and natural spirituality striving. I look forward to the day when we work together, building on our shared foundation, as we celebrate our contributions to diversity. Only then will we be able to solve most problems on Earth as we strive for the desired future conditions. Nobody does it better than each of us and all of us together. World without end….
