Founding contributor and creator of Natural Earth Striving an Earth Ethic and Earth Research Explorers, a vision that accepts and includes everyone on Earth as stakeholders, stewards, explorers, researchers, creators, pattern recognizers, ground truthers, innovators, hypothesis generators, etc. Suppose you look at these two entities and consider them as a cycle. In that case, it gets everyone contributing towards a more continuous adaptive striving for desired future conditions on planet Earth from a broad scale to a fine scale. This leads us to a more holistic positive energy reality for the health of everyone, everything, everywhere on Earth. The vision includes a loving, caring, sharing, giving, forgiving, genuine kindness striving to bring about conditions of comfort, joy, love, hope, faith, and sustainable striving happiness foundation for everyone on Earth, transitioning most laws, rules, regulations, policies, to holistic prescriptive advice.

Airbnb in context (AI)

I am writing to share an elaborated vision for the role of Airbnb, proposing its evolution into a foundational element of a comprehensive inspirational incentives program. This initiative is designed to cultivate a global community of individuals characterized by holistic well-being, profound motivation, and positive energy.

At its core, this expanded paradigm integrates principles of realistic engagement, genuine reconciliation, and mutual forgiveness. We envision Airbnb as a catalyst for unifying diverse communities, fostering equity, and creating a shared understanding that transcends geographical boundaries. Participation within this framework is inherently dynamic and adaptive, continuously inspiring individuals towards kindness and a sustained commitment to personal and collective betterment.

For those who may initially find themselves outside this vision, a clear pathway to re-engagement is integral to the concept. By actively participating in activities that promote holistic well-being and contribute positive energy, individuals can demonstrate their commitment and ultimately re-integrate into the broader ecosystem of inspirational incentives. This pathway ensures that the initiative remains inclusive, offering opportunities for personal growth and communal contribution.

This progressive concept is profoundly influenced by earlier “eco-geo” and “home-sharing” ideas I developed in the 1990s, which sought to harmonize ecological consciousness with community-driven resource sharing.

Ultimately, this reimagined Airbnb model is intended to seamlessly integrate within a larger framework, which we refer to as the Earth Unidiversity Research Explorers Cycle – a collaborative global endeavor focused on collective advancement. The potential impact of such a holistic inspirational incentive is immense. By fostering a world where individuals are driven by well-motivated positive energy, we lay the groundwork for significantly mitigating societal challenges and fostering a culture of mutual respect and unity. The value generated by this approach extends far beyond conventional financial metrics, delivering profound positive energy and benefits to our world that are immeasurable.

Irrational Stratification?

Do existing power structures like politics and law do the employing of scientists and technologists leading to irrational stratification ?

I am currently contemplating the profound influence that established political and legal frameworks exert on the engagement and deployment of scientific and technological expertise within society. Specifically, I am interested in exploring whether these overarching power structures, through their mechanisms of funding, regulation, and policy-making, inadvertently or deliberately contribute to a form of stratification that could be deemed irrational or counterproductive. This might manifest as an uneven distribution of scientific talent, biased research priorities, or the creation of societal divisions based on access to or control over technological advancements, ultimately hindering equitable and optimal progress.

Politics is about continuation of the status quo while science is about solving problems with patterns in an in-context way (ai)

The fundamental approaches governing political action and scientific inquiry often stand in stark contrast, reflecting distinct objectives and methodologies. Political systems, by their very nature, frequently gravitate towards the preservation of established orders and the intricate balance of existing power dynamics. Their function often involves safeguarding societal stability and managing diverse, sometimes conflicting, interests through negotiation and compromise, which can inherently lean towards maintaining the current state of affairs rather than instigating radical transformation. Decisions within the political realm are frequently shaped by ideological frameworks, public sentiment, and strategic considerations aimed at continuity.

Conversely, the scientific endeavor is propelled by an unwavering commitment to empirical understanding and the systematic unveiling of verifiable truths. It employs a rigorous methodological framework—involving observation, hypothesis testing, and data-driven analysis—to discern underlying principles and uncover the causal relationships that govern our reality. The ultimate aim of science is not merely to describe phenomena but to solve complex challenges through innovative application of discovered knowledge, continuously adapting and evolving its theories as new evidence emerges. This relentless pursuit of understanding, coupled with its empirical and context-sensitive problem-solving approach, positions science as a dynamic force for progressive insight and practical advancement.

Politics should be employed at the end of a rational scientific decision making process for gut feel purposes

Towards a holistic pursuit of knowledge AI

Knowledge is knowledge and politics and law are more associated with out of context power and authority.   Science is the way we create knowledge in an in context way.

The pursuit and application of knowledge are fundamental to human society, shaping our understanding of the world and guiding our actions.

When we consider fields like politics and law, their primary mechanisms often involve the establishment and enforcement of frameworks built upon societal norms, historical precedents, and the exercise of codified power and authority. While historically essential for societal order, these systems can sometimes operate from a position that, by necessity, abstracts from the granular, empirical contexts of individual situations. Their decisions and directives often carry weight due to their inherent authority, rather than being solely derived from direct, real-time observation or scientific validation of every specific case. This can lead to a perception that their influence stems from ‘out-of-context’ power, where rules are applied broadly rather than being continuously re-evaluated against evolving, specific circumstances.

In stark contrast, the scientific method offers a distinctly different paradigm for knowledge creation. Science systematically constructs understanding through rigorous observation, empirical testing, and the iterative analysis of data, ensuring that discoveries are deeply rooted in the specific, observable realities of the phenomena being studied. Its strength lies in its commitment to ‘in-context’ validation, where hypotheses are tested against the tangible world, refined, and built upon through a communal process of inquiry and peer review. This approach inherently ties knowledge directly to evidence and reproducible findings, constantly adapting and refining understanding based on new data and contextual insights.

Therefore, while both domains contribute uniquely to our world, they represent fundamentally different approaches to defining truth and shaping reality – one often through structured inquiry tied to empirical context, the other frequently through the application of established governance and authoritative frameworks.

Sincerely,

Richard Thomas Simmons

Sinning capitalization AI

Dear Everyone,

I am compelled to share a reflection on a deeply troubling trend that appears to be fracturing the very foundations of our society. It is the widespread tendency to instrumentalize perceived moral failings—what we often term “sins” or “evil”—not as opportunities for redemption, but as strategic ammunition in a relentless pursuit of competitive advantage. This exploitation of human imperfection is creating a pernicious cycle of societal fragmentation, eroding our collective well-being.

In an environment where competitive instincts are often lauded, wrongdoing frequently becomes a convenient means to secure a dominant position. Our political discourse and legal frameworks, rather than fostering restorative justice, too often leverage these transgressions, both individually and collectively defined, as instruments in a zero-sum game for power and control. This approach, tragically, engenders more division and hostility, perpetuating the very behaviors it claims to address.

The spiritual essence of acknowledging wrongdoing traditionally points towards pathways of atonement and reconciliation. Yet, in stark contrast, our contemporary society frequently weaponizes these concepts. Perceived sins are transformed into compelling narratives for media consumption, tools for professional exclusion or advancement, mechanisms for reinforcing social stratification, and justifications for disempowerment. When individuals are labeled “bad” or “evil,” it often disregards the universal fallibility of humanity, forgetting that we all possess imperfections. This fierce competition, fueled by the magnification of faults, may indeed be at the heart of many self-perpetuating cycles of decline within our communities.

Consider how the exploitation of perceived wrongdoing, often driven by unchecked avarice, allows the already powerful to consolidate their influence. They frequently manipulate public sentiment, calling for harsher judgment and punitive measures against “sinners,” particularly those who are marginalized, under the guise of administering “justice.” This inevitably leads to a corrosive blame game, further dividing society and systematically undermining the principles of fairness, equity, and unity we ostensibly cherish. Many transgressions, I believe, originate from a fundamental lack of equitable opportunity and genuine satisfaction within our complex world, compounded by the pervasive influence of greed.

Instead of this destructive path, I advocate for a fundamental reorientation towards universal reconciliation and genuine forgiveness, underpinned by a concerted effort to build unity and equity for all. True liberation from the societal consequences of perceived moral failings is not an instantaneous event, but a meticulous process of collective growth, empathy, and support. Only through this transformative journey can individuals truly flourish, unburdened by punitive judgment, and become free to explore the full spectrum of life’s possibilities. This proactive and compassionate approach will effectively forestall the exploitative dynamics that perpetuate cycles of division and despair, paving the way for a more harmonious and prosperous future for everyone.

Sincerely,

Richard Thomas Simmons

Sinning capitalization and resulting competition are causing a downward spiral feedback loop in our society

Dear Everyone,

The relative and absolute capitalization of sinning and what people call “evil” is causing a downward spiral feedback loop in our society.  People often thrive on competition, with wrongdoing frequently serving as their method of competing.    Sins are meant to be forgiven, but too often politics and law use relative and absolute sinning as a tool for extreme competition to get ahead of one another.  This caused more and more sin.  Sinning in a religious context is meant to be forgiven, but too often our society uses it as a tool for competition instead.  Sins are turned into movies, newscasts, tools for firing, tools for not hiring, tools for getting ahead, and societal stratification.  Some people go to extremes and say that sinners are so-called bad people or evil people, but we are all sinners.  This competition may be the source of all downward spiral feedback loops in society.  The capitalization of sinning from greed helps the greedy get ahead in our society, as they call for more judgment and police to find sinners and put them through reactionary “justice”.  This is when the real blame game begins.  Isn’t sinning used to divide society and undermine fairness, equity, and unity?   Most sinning starts because of a lack of opportunity to get ahead and be satisfied in our world of sinning.  It also begins with greed.  Instead, I suggest reconciliation and forgiveness for everyone, with a focus on unity and equity-building.  Helping people become free of sin is a building process.  Once this is accomplished, people become free to explore all life has to offer.  This helps avoid entry into capitalization and the downward spiral feedback loops associated with sinning.

Sincerely,

Richard Thomas Simmons

Letter to everyone on Earth

Dear Friends, Colleagues, Leaders, and Fellow Earthlings,

Richard Thomas Simmons here. I have a dream. Guided by the wisdom of the past, present, and future, I’m writing to you today, not with despair but with a fervent hope born from the cumulative totality of circumstances. Our planet, our shared home, is facing a crisis of unprecedented scale. Like a body succumbing to hypothermia, Earth, our cultures, nature, and its people are losing their vital positive energy, its delicate balance threatened by the escalating consequences of anthropogenic complexity, controversy, controlled chaos, irrational decisions, out-of-control problems, and inequity. But I believe we can, and must, reverse this downward spiral. I call it globalization controlling domination and infinite variabilization of hierarchical structures. This isn’t merely an environmental challenge; it’s a systemic failure of imagination, interconnectedness, and our collective responsibility. We’ve built a world governed by divisive hierarchies, fragmented systems, pollution of all types, and a relentless pursuit of short-term gains at the expense of long-term sustainability and stability. The time for incremental change is over. We need a radical holistic transition from the current condition to a desired future, a leap toward a future characterized by unity, collaboration, and ecological harmony.

Imagine a world where the “We-Me Unidiversity Research Explorers Cycle” replaces Earth’s antiquated command and control hierarchical structures. It represents a world where governments, corporations, communities, and individuals collaborate as a single, dynamic super-organism, each contributing unique strengths to a shared purpose: restoring and preserving our planet. Envision a global network of knowledge, a “Unidiversity” where all disciplines interweave, fostering innovation and exploration, holistic living, holistic learning, holistic investing, and holistic problem-solving on an unprecedented scale. Thus, it includes everyone, everything, everywhere on Earth. Imagine our militaries on Earth, once instruments of war, retooled for ecological restoration, humanity restoration, and holistic endeavors, deploying their resources and expertise to combat deforestation, missions similar to universities, restore societal and natural ecosystems, and combat climate change disasters.  This transition requires a shift in our mindset, a move away from the artificial complexities of our current systems towards a more straightforward, more efficient, humanitarian, and ecologically integrated way of life. We must simplify our gut feel political structures, economic models, and social interactions to reflect better the elegant simplicity and interconnectedness of the natural world.  Corporations, too, must evolve. They must shed their exploitative greed practices and embrace a new paradigm: becoming ecologically conscious niche organizations, operating within the natural limits of their environment and society, and contributing positively to the broader ecosystem. Profit shouldn’t be the sole success metric; ecological and social well-being must take center stage as a profit percentage becomes ecological equilibrium compensation for our holistic well-being.

This isn’t a utopian fantasy; it’s a blueprint for survival. We have the knowledge, the resources, and – most importantly – the collective potential to create a more harmonious and sustainable future with each of us as stakeholders and stewards. But we must act now. The urgency is palpable. Nuclear proliferation and planetary ecological breakdown aren’t distant threats; they are looming realities.

How do we begin? We start by fostering dialogue, connecting, and sharing our visions for a better world. We begin by demanding systemic change from our governments and corporations as they transition to a holistic cycle. We start by making conscious choices in our daily lives—reducing our carbon footprint, supporting sustainable businesses or niche organizations, and actively participating in community-based initiatives from local to Earth scale.

From local to broader scales, maps will integrate us all and unite us by geographic coordinates of knowledge. We will become an earth of unidiversity, where each coordinate represents a portion of universal knowledge worthy of exploring and researching. We will become a research explorer planet where, with integrated devices, we will unify the vastness of human knowledge and understanding as we all get involved. By seamlessly connecting local data and coordinates, these integrated maps will serve as powerful tools for collaboration, allowing people from all corners of the world to engage, share insights, and solve problems together. Whether through geographic, cultural, or scientific lenses, the unification of knowledge will empower us to address global challenges, promote sustainability, prioritize, and celebrate the diversity of our shared human experience. With each device, cyclic system, and map, we move closer to creating a truly interconnected world where information flows freely and exploration knows no limits and bounds past, present, and future. Essentially, the Earth becomes a cumulative totality University or Unidiversity for exploration by all of us and each of us, Earth Research Explorer Cycle. This will allow everyone to go to university to study, research, and explore whatever they want. These coordinates and maps will allow us to live, learn, explore, and invest on Earth. Hence, to transition desired future conditions from current conditions, we can prescribe holistic remedies for people and our natural environment to adapt to current conditions holistically.

Let this be our collective call to action. Let us move beyond the limitations of our current systems and embrace the boundless possibilities of a genuinely unified and sustainable striving future. Let’s work together to build that upward spiral, a future where humanity thrives in harmony with the Earth. We must begin living in a world of holistic problem-solving, considering relative importance, priority, and significance. We must bring everyone up to similarity equity out of the survival zone level and a unique purpose, unique diversity, and desired future conditions. To get this transition world started, we all need to be accepted and included on earth; in doing so, we need to be loving, caring, sharing, giving, forgiving, and genuine kindness striving to bring around conditions of comfort, joy, love, hope, faith, and sustainable striving happiness.  Therefore, we must have an Earth ethic of natural Earth striving, natural humanity striving, and natural spirituality striving with God’s approach to living on a free planet Earth.  Let’s begin today.

Warmly yours,

Richard Thomas Simmons

Sharing Incentives

Most sharing ideas are meant for everyone. This is especially true for rideshare, as it makes the most sense. It should be like Boolean, opt-in or opt-out, available or not available. With the integrated device, a user simply chooses whether to be involved or not. If you’re too busy at the time, then you merely opt out. It’s kind of like hitchhiking. It is meant to be an eco geo idea. The closer you are to someone who needs a ride, the more likely you will be chosen as a possible rideshare person.  For example, being chosen is like winning the lottery, providing extra money or energy in your pocket. The first to respond is the one that gets the ride. I envisioned that this idea was for both short-distance rides and long-distance rides. It all depends on the eco geo scheduler whether you are somebody who has opted in or opted out.

The same is true with houses, homes, and shelter share.  However, it’s simply going to be a matter of whether the location is desirable or not. People often seek places to relax or enjoy the environment. Sometimes, it’s convenient to be closest to specific events, etc. However, including everyone means you could choose a house close to your relative or a friend. The idea is pretty much the same: you can opt-in, opt-out, or not get involved at all.  If you choose a home share, the person may be your friend accepting you in his or her home.   Shelter share is just any other available type of shelter, like tents, yurts, huts, campers, boats, hotel rooms, camps, resorts, etc.  Initially, I thought it’d be a great idea to have sharing be about similarities and differences. For example, if you are a teacher, all the teacher’s homes, houses, and shelters would be available to choose from.  If you want to meet somebody different, you could select anybody but a teacher.  This way, you can choose fascinating people to visit your home. Otherwise, you can live on a farm for a week to get a different experience.  These ideas are really about everyone, everything, everywhere on earth.  These ideas are part of an idea called Earth Research Explorers and the unidiversity.

I like the idea of combining everything into something called everything rents and shares as part of the Earth unidiversity research exploration cycle since most ideas are about living, learning, exploring, and investing.

Transitioning or ecological succession

Adapting to desired future conditions is rational. However, it requires all of us. We need to transition to this desired future condition on Earth. She needs us to be stakeholders and stewards to protect her from out-of-control greed and how things are in a world where we care for each other, our environment, and our commons. To start this holistic, well-intentioned, well-motivated idea, we must begin the candle-lighting ceremony on Earth by sending a letter to everyone on Earth. In doing so, we must inform everyone that we are all together; transitioning is about everyone on Earth.

Otherwise, God collaborating with us may have planned something that mimics a natural disturbance or ecological succession worldwide. This may mean that the understory species on Earth will begin to grow and overtop the traditional way things are in the current condition. A balancing act on Earth will start, giving everybody the relative freedom to contribute to everything on Earth. This balancing act will provide people marginalized by globalization-controlling domination an opportunity to survive in a holistic, well-intentioned, well-motivated way where they get credit for what they do and their creativity and contributions. Also, the similarity equity foundation will mean no one on earth will be in a preventable suffering condition anymore. All wars, militarism, terrorism, mass shootings, violence, crime, and destruction of our environment will cease to occur, bringing a holistic, well-motivated, positive, energy-rational decision-making world with all of us involved.  We will all transition to a loving, caring, sharing, giving, forgiving, genuine kindness striving world to bring around conditions of comfort, joy, love, hope, faith, and sustainable striving happiness. Our earth ethic will then include natural Earth striving, natural humanity striving, and natural spirituality striving with God’s approach to living on Earth.
