Multi scalar Homeostasis problem on planet Earth

I have been concerned about Earth’s life support systems that affect everything on our planet, including human health. Everything to me happens at a certain level, and I sometimes wonder if phenomenon like cancer is geographically distributed in certain areas more than others because of impacts on our life support systems. I talked to one person who mentioned it may have been radionuclides from atomic testing that are causing cancer. It may be partially true. But I wonder if it is more of a cumulative causation, including excessive pollution in all forms, multi-level exposure to carcinogens, or processes that have become out of balance in our systems. I wonder about acidification. I wonder that in areas with more acidity, there may be more cancer because exposure to more acidity in the environment will mean exposure to more acidity in the human body. I wonder if we can do a research project on more basic areas due to the natural occurrence of more basic bedrock formations, including limestone, dolomite, and others. It would be interesting to contrast various environments to see if there is any validity to this hypothesis. Furthermore, areas where cancer is of higher incidence may be areas coincidentally associated with other behavior traits that may increase the likelihood of getting cancer. These contributory causes include less healthy food, poor health, smoking, and a lack of fruit and vegetables (which raises acidity because of breathing problems). How I look at things is that everything is related to everything else. We are all part of the Earth, and the Earth is our home. How we treat our home is how we treat ourselves because the environment we create is the environment we ingest and breathe. If the Earth has homeostasis problems, so will we. I am worried about ocean acidification and that we are overwhelming the buffering capacity of the oceans, thus creating a situation where we will start impacting the primary producers, which will, in turn, affect the rest of the food chain and food webs, including us. We must strive towards natural Earth functioning, thus minimizing our impacts on our planet as soon as possible. Otherwise…?
