Getting started assistance for those starting out fresh

If you are stagnant and do not know what to do with your life as many adolescents and adults are these days, here are some thoughts I have put together on some things I have done in my life,  have been suggested to me,  or steps I would take. Our planet needs help in every aspect and in almost every way. Therefore, anything that involves helping people, helping the environment, helping society, helping your community, helping education, helping people without housing, helping your family, or contributing to any holistic, sustainable, striving ecological niche role (job) would help our planet immensely. Regarding getting an education, I believe education is about lifelong learning from the day you are born until the day you die. Remember, those things you are interested in learning today may be different than those you are interested in learning in the future, which is okay. Sometimes, you learn immensely about the similarities and differences in various types of education and learn an immense amount from that as well. I would start with a book like “What Color is My Parachute?” and take the website’s What Color is Your Parachute test. The next step is to go to the local career center in your area. In Florida, it is called the Career Source. For example, it may be called something different in other states, like the Career Center in Maine. These places have diverse abilities to help, including resume help, interviewing, classes on getting a job, career fairs, educational opportunities, meetings with counselors, computers and computer help, and anything you need to get started looking for a job.

However, you will notice that it may be overwhelming at first. These places could get you started, but remember, it is all up to you. You cannot expect them to get the job for you. Once you have taken a career assessment and have thought about what it is you may be interested in, it is time to select an ecological niche role (Career) path and an educational path for continual education. It is best to do both; otherwise, you become stagnant, losing sight of your aspirations and dreams. The next best place to go is your local university or community college, for example, in Ocala, Florida. I believe one of the closest colleges is The College of Central Florida. If college is not for you at this stage, there are other options like the Peace Corps and AmeriCorps, which is a spinoff of the Peace Corps concept, in my opinion, or the Coast Guard. Some people join the military, but I hope all the world’s militaries transform themselves and combine with the Earth’s Holistic Peace Corps. I hope that is enough to get you started.
