Beaware

Being aware is a concept I had in the early 2000s. Instead of waiting for reactionary law, beware uses technology to help make people aware of anything before it is too late. Early versions used polygons overlaid on one another where the user drew a polygon or a point to designate the area of interest. In this application, I was concerned about special sites, special areas, and rare, threatened, and endangered species for forest certification. Once the user identified an area or a point location, the PDFs were returned for as many of the intersected polygons that exist. Therefore, the application made people aware of habitats, nests, RTE, Special areas, and special sites ahead of time before doing any harm. This idea can be expanded to just about anything. Recently, I saw advertisements warning drivers not to open the door of their car after they parallel parked until they looked for bicyclists. This “be aware” application also warned the bicyclist simultaneously. Every advertisement should have some “be aware” component as it would replace the reactionary need for health care, law, insurance, paperwork, regulations, etc. The idea of being aware saves lives and minimizes pollution.
